Deviation Actions
After finishing off my math assignment for this week, I find a disturbing post on Facebook (By CollegeHumor, no less) about this:
Adam Sandler is releasing a film this summer based on the original short "PIXELS". I noticed that everyone was hating on Adam Sandler (whom I know nothing about, actually), but I'm hating on the overall concept that the film capitalizes on:
Aliens take the form of 80's video games, and then attack earth by practically de-rezzing everything in sight into little cubes? My God, that's terrifying in its own right! I was traumatized when I saw the short in 2010, and after that I went on a rant about how horrified I was, and threw together a badly-done bashing video on YouTube with MS Paint animations and a weak story of somehow restoring Earth back to normal and erasing the damage, all set to the song "All Your Base Are Belong To Us". And here I thought memes were never meant to be used as a Deus Ex Machina in storytelling.
But now there's a feature film. WHY? For god sake's, WHY?!!?
From what I can tell, there's no hope for humanity. The creator of Pac-Man went up to the alien that embodied the character, and instead of a First Contact scene, we get the man's hand chomped on and seeing it slowly crumble into pieces as if it was some kind of virus. That's just going too far, even worse than how the short film ended with the whole world being turned into the All Spark's cousin.
And what I cannot understand is why nobody else online is having these same views. What gives?

Okay, rant over. *sigh* It's best that I just put the posts out of my mind and focus on what actually needs me this week.

Confession
Fellow watchers, I know you've followed me for a good while, between artwork and writing, and I appreciate everything we've done together in this occasionally terrible world. But now I feel it's time I lay my cards on the table: My will to create has stagnated. I'll break down the reasons how and why: 1) My sleep schedule hasn't been the cleanest these past few years 2) A combination of that, High functioning Autism, and Bipolar has caused occasional depression. 3) I never find to work on anything, on workdays or not. That didn't happen before Covid 4) I've built up so many ideas and plans that it's caused burnout, with a to do list that never gets shorter. 5) Most importantly: I've discovered I've been writing literature all wrong. To elaborate on that last one: In all I've uploaded here, between Gage McIntyre, Lora Lastic, Dragonbounce, and my various Fanfictions, there's one thing that's been missing from the characters therin; Nuance. Reason A: I think in black in white. Reason B: I'm really good at describing places, locations, and actions like you'd see in an old Infocom text adventure, but emotional conflicts or relationships are things I don't understand, in fiction or reality. In fact, when I watch a triple A movie and it gets to the relationship scenes (Say, the Star Wars Prequels, or the Avengers), my mind shuts off and wishes for the action to start already. But where I am now (excluding lower level stuff) I feel several stories cannot continue without nuance. I am open to whatever suggestions you may have. Thanks a lot. It really means much to me.
Look at the details
For anyone worried about the upcoming changes to the "Watch" tab, look for this in the upper right corner of "Deviants You Watch". This way you can toggle between the clustered image display and images stacked by artist, just like the old system. Hope this makes things better in the long run.
Project Burnout
Hey guys. I know there's been a lot of dead air on my page, so I figured I should come clean. For the past six months/year I've been deadlocked with the amount of projects on my plate, like burnout from too many college courses. - 3 story files - 4 drawings to be colored And every time, I'm often unable to focus on one thing at a time, which leads to procrastination and back to square one. Why? Because everything seems as important as everything else. This has happened internally with other projects - like my long stagnant game, "Sanctuary". My intense work hours haven't helped either. I sincerely apologize if some of you have been waiting and waiting for an extension to one of these projects, but this is a hard struggle. All I can say to that is: "It'll be out when it's out." Hopefully something will come of this, either way.
New Job!
It might not be the most significant choice of career, but as of this week, I've officially started work as a Truck Unloader at Wal-Mart!
Right now I'm in computer training, but I hear it pays more than my previous job, with more hours to offer. I can't wait to get into it considering how stagnant things have been until this point.
It's nice to know that there's profitable places to work even for people like me.

I am reading after playing NES Remix on my Wii U for a few hours...(coincidence?)
The very concept of the movie sounds like it's made by someone who wanted video games to end during the North American Video Game Crash of 1982. (Luckily for us, Nintendo came in on time to revolutionize the market with the Nintendo Entertainment System)
