Lepidor, Herald of Insects

Here we see Florangel's semi-insectoid partner, Lepidor, AKA Dr. Helen Johnson, an entomologist also researching ways to combat pollution. She, being neurally linked to a central hive mind of every known insect, can psychically summon and control any insect at will. However, whereas Kara enjoys fighting crime and restoring nature hands-on, Helen prefers the scientific aspect, and, as shown here, continues her research even after having been mutated. In this case she's feeding a nectar-based compound to some ants and a praying mantis to observe its effects on them. Having four arms instead of two really helps multitasking, doesn't it?
Helen's original self had suffered from a genetic form of obesity, which the change really trimmed down. And to this day, she not only studies insects and uses them, but also finds beauty in them like Kara does to plants, shown by the earring and necklace in the photo. She even has a pet beehive in her lab, which is partly where her scrapped bee suit project came from.
Must be pretty hard to face Joey eating insects when she can feel their minds, though.
